The JDVSF’s Swiss chapter held its traditional Christmas sale to raise funds for San Martin de Porres today in Widen, Switzerland, a suburb of Zurich. Over 170 sweet bread mini-Santas, called “Grittibänz” were baked by the chapters members and sold at the saturday morning market.
Within two hours, all of the Santas were sold and over $1,300 Swiss Francs (approx $1,280 USD) raised for the children and the facilities at San Martin de Porres.
It was happy albeit cold Saturday morning at the Widen market. Many people stopped for a chat to learn how our children in the Philippines are doing and were very happy to hear about all the good things that happened over the last 12 months.
Thank you to the kind people of Widen, and the Swiss chapter for their generosity in making and buying these traditional Swiss treats for the benefit of the SMDP community!
