Construction continues apace at the Girl’s Village
Construction continues to move ahead at the site of the future Girl’s Village of St. Martin de Porres in June 2014. Please see below for detailed construction and site photos and notes.
COLUMNS FROM FOOTING TO BOTTOM OF GROUND FLOOR BEAMS ARE COMPLETELY POURED WITH CONCRETE. LAYOUT OF REINFORCING BARS AT GROUND FLOOR BEAMS IS IN PROGRESS.
Preparation of bottom forms for ground floor beams and fixing of reinforcing bars are being done simultaneously.
SITE PREPARATION: MECHANICAL AND MANUAL CLEARING ACTIVITIES. STAKING AND LAYOUT OF BUILDING FOOTPRINT.
EXCAVATION FOR BUILDING FOUNDATION WORKS. ( GIRL’S HOUSE NO. 1 AT THE BACKGROUND)
WHILE SITE PREPARATION IS BEING DONE, REINFORCING BARS ARE FABRICATED IN A SEPARATE AREA TO EXPEDITE THE CONSTRUCTION OF FOOTINGS.
AFTER SETTING THE BOTTOM ELEVATION OF FOOTING, GRAVEL BEDDING IS COMPACTED, AND FOOTING AND COLUMN REINFORCING BARS ARE FIXED.
AFTER FIXING THE ELEVATION AND VERTICAL ALIGNMENT OF REINFORCING BARS, CEMENT, GRAVEL , SAND AND WATER ARE PLACED IN A CONCRETE BUCKET FOR PROPER MIXING BEFORE POURING TO THE PREPARED PIT.
ALL FOOTINGS AND PARTIAL COLUMN HEIGHT UP TO BOTTOM OF FOOTING TIE BEAMS ARE POURED WITH CONRETE. LAYOUT OF FOOTING TIE BEAMS JUST STARTED.
